Hands down, my favourite thing about creating is hearing people say that my art made them smile.
I'll admit, for the longest time I never really focused on one thing. I loved pottery, fibre art, and heritage crafts, all equally as much and would enthusiastically ping from one thing to the next. Over the last few years however, I have realized that creating whimsical paintings is my true art love. I take inspiration from my family, pets, history and every day life, often waking up in the early hours with a new concept to paint. They don't all turn out the way I imagined, but the process is therapeutic just the same.
Over the years I have studied illustration and graphic design, and am forever eager to explore new mediums an techniques. I love to use pencils, pastels, acrylic or gouache paint, and have collected more pans of watercolours then I could ever actually use.
I am so thrilled to be one of the artists at Martello Alley! They say home is where the heart is, and for many reasons, for me that is downtown Kingston. Martello Alley is certainly a special and unique place, and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
