Jackie's journey has taken many twists and turns but music and songwriting has whirled, weaved and waltzed its way through it all.
Born and raised in Belleville Ontario Canada, she began classical guitar lessons at fourteen and later continued her studies with the widely respected Eli Kassner of the Guitar Academy in Toronto. It was around this time that Jackie began to sing and perform at local venues drawing upon material from all her major influences including Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Shawn Phillips and classical guitar maestro Andres Segovia.
She was completely smitten with music and further bolstered her musical knowledge by studying piano and opera, as well as attending the music program at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. She also took part in songwriting workshops and garnered interest from major publishers in Nashville with her compelling songs and angelic vocals. Jackie eventually landed a gig touring with singer/songwriter Donna O'Connor and the band Hostage. Shortly thereafter, Jackie stepped away from her budding career as life simply got in the way.
However, all those challenges shaped and moulded her like a sculptor works a piece of clay into something extraordinary and Jackie eventually made her triumphant return to her first loves - guitar, singing, songwriting and performing. Like a long lost love rekindled, the desire to release her songs burned hotter than ever as Jackie embarked on chapter two of her music career, recording and producing a collection of her material with the intent of releasing an album.
Her unique style, overall musicianship, hauntingly gorgeous voice and skillful songwriting draw upon her extensive music studies and a life blessed with both immense joy, as well as riddled with crippling sorrow, to produce songs that hit listeners right in the feels while speaking to their very souls.
