City Hall Market 2 – Since 1844 the neo-classical style city hall building has graced downtown Kingston. Designed by George Browne, it was once designated to be Canada’s first parliament building. The back or northwest side of Kingston City Hall features a market square which is frequently busy with vendors, displays or live entertainment. It is a favourite subject of mine and is never short of visual delights. The 14” x 11” watercolour and ink sketch was done on smooth paper, bonded to mdf board then varnished to seal it. Reproductions and Greeting cards of this scene are available at Martello Alley.
