A magnificent Toy Shop with fabulous children's window displays. Life is like a Rocking Horse with its ups and downs. On Friday September 27th, 2013 things couldn't be better. It was a beautiful sunny day. I was so happy especially with my painting. Too happy! It was then I realized , I had left the key turned on in my car. Dead battery. I went in the Rocking Horse and met the staff Erienne and Liz and later the owner Monica Brown who kindly phoned CAA for me . I went back to my car to wait. It took two more calls to CAA . I waited two hours in the hot sun before they arrived. Did I learn from this experience. You bet I did. I now carry my own battery booster pack in my car.

Shirley Gibson-Langille was born in Toronto, but now calls Kingston home, where she is very active in the arts scene. As a Romantic Painter, Shirley works on location, taking the time to connect with her subject, always with a feeling of joy for the love of things just as they are!
Over the past many years, Shirley has given and continues to give her artists’ perspective to so many of the unique nooks and crannies of Kingston, as well as the other special locations she captures in her work.
