DESCRIPTION: This is a companion painting to Meadows & Moss, Inspired by a morning drive through the countryside of southeastern Ontario. These lovely rolling hills are bordered by a distant tree line. The overcast skies accentuated but muted the lush greens and created a mauve hue as the light mist began to lift at the distant tree line. The shallow soil created by the geography of the Canadian Shield encourages moisture to remain near the surface creating the perfect environment for the moss-covered rocks.
