Years ago, My wife and I took the kids to Myles Acres to enjoy sleigh rides and winter activities. It was a farm just ouside Kingston, run by a local family. They also operated a campground on site during the summer. I came across a photo I took some time ago and I thought to myself that it would make a charming painting. I decided to paint it in a folksy style - almost like American Impressionism. What I wanted to convey that it is the simpler activities that we enjoy the most. In a day and age when we have laser shows, holographic displays and sophisticated electronic theme park rides, the simple memories of snow-filled afternoons are the best memories of all!
