In 1885, the Kingston and Pembroke Railway was built. Now a tourist information centre across the street from City Hall. The train station is surrounded by many other historic buildings such as the Prince George Hotel, Kingston Fire Station, Royal Horse Artillery building and down the street from the Hanley Station. Nearby are several local pubs with historic roots, including the Kingston Brewing Company, the Pilot House, and the Merchant Tap House.
