was known as the Grimason House. It was purchased by John A. Macdonald in 1856, and sold part of the business to the Grimasons. Henry Grimason died that year. Knowing Elizès had three children, he never asked for the remaining payments. Mrs. Grimason used to cook twenty-cent suppers at Sir John's political meetings on this highly decorated stove (The Superb Favourite) Grimason Hotel became The Farmers Royal Exchange Inn around 1900. After The Royal Hotel around 1933. Mrs. Enid Lavin bought it in 1956. The hotel is now called The Royal Tavern. Micheal Lavin, the current owner and his three sons run the business. Shirley Gibson-Langille was born in Toronto, but now calls Kingston home, where she is very active in the arts scene. As a Romantic Painter, Shirley works on location, taking the time to connect with her subject, always with a feeling of joy for the love of things just as they are!
