Coverdale, 117 Earl Street, Kingston Ontario

This is central home of three large square, hammer-dressed stone houses with three bays designed by William Coverdale for the north side of Earl Street from 1847-50.  This house was built in 1847-48 for the merchant John Fraser and his wife Catherine Mowat Fraser.

Earl Street was named for Hugh Earl, a Scottish mariner who married Anne, the youngest daughter of Molly Brant and Sir William Johnson in 1793 or 1794
