A portrait of an Algonquin red fox 8x 10 canvas

Karen Leggo

As a wildlife photographer, the most important aspect of my images is capturing the intensity of an animals eyes while finding the perfect lighting. Luck & patience in the early morning hours came together with this shot of an algonquin red fox! I spotted a flash of reddish coloured fur moving through the forest. I could barely contain my excitement! I waited patiently for the lighting to improve, hoping she would stay close by. I kept a respectable distance from her and she finally graced me with her presence. She sat at the edge of the forest watching me and I her; and at that moment the sun was rising, back lighting her every strand of fur and bringing her eyes to life!! All the elements came together to capture this perfect moment and I could feel the gentle soul of this beautiful animal!
