Cove Island Lighthouse — Handcrafted Wooden Ornament
Made in Tobermory, Ontario
Bring home a piece of Ontario’s iconic shoreline with this beautifully handcrafted wooden ornament—a faithful replica of the historic Cove Island Lighthouse. Created with care and craftsmanship in Tobermory, this charming keepsake is the perfect souvenir to celebrate memories of Canada, Ontario, and the beautiful summers spent along our lakes and coasts.
Each lighthouse ornament carries a special story. It was originally crafted by Lynn C. Watson (1938–2023)—a lumberjack, sawmill operator, custom home builder, lifelong Tobermory resident, and beloved father whose passion for woodwork was matched only by his love for his family. Lynn continued working in his shop right up until his passing at the age of 85.
This ornament is one of the many pieces he left unfinished. With care and devotion, his family has been completing his remaining works so that his artistry can continue to be shared and cherished.
From his daughter:
“Lynn C. Watson was our dad, and his lifelong passion for wood was only surpassed by his love for his family. As we work at completing his other pieces, we hope you enjoy this finished lighthouse for many years to come.”
Whether as a gift or a treasured keepsake, this handcrafted lighthouse offers a heartfelt connection to Tobermory, to the beauty of the Bruce Peninsula, and to the legacy of a craftsman who poured a lifetime of love into his work.
